Mind Body Spirit Martial Arts is about ending violence by working with women, children, families, and communities. We work to end violence by outreach to families, schools, and communities by teaching martial arts and self defense.
Do you feel safe?
There are times for all of us when we don’t feel safe. Discover the keys to self confidence and peace of mind in dedicated training. Martial arts is a pathway to peace of mind for families and communities that seek to end violence. Through basic training a person of any age can learn the when and how to protect themselves from immediate harm.
A little training goes a long way towards safety, and we believe that everyone should have basic self defense training to enable them to defend against most of the typical dangerous situations that are out there. When was the last time you took a self defense class? Self defense is dependent on muscle memory, and you must train, and practice that information. A CPR license is only good for a year because health professionals know: if you aren’t going over the information and practicing the latest techniques at least once a year, then you aren’t ready for the real situation. We recommend that everyone go to at least one self defense seminar every year. See our list of self defense seminars to find one near you.
The best effects of martial arts come with continued dedicated training. Mind Body Spirit Martial Arts has a goal of passing on the deeper teachings of the martial arts. With continued training every student has the opportunity to push themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. We provide opportunities for every student to learn, specialize, and lead others from almost the very beginning of their training. We provide directed, proven, clear instruction which enables students of any age to acquire skill as they learn to master their bodies and environment. Martial arts also has an award system beyond belt ranking that supports positive choices and growth both in and outside of class.
Outcomes that are common among dedicated students are:
- Increase in self confidence
- Respect for others, and respect for life
- Greater ability to focus
- Better health, strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance
- Peace of mind
- Ability to instruct and lead others
- Greater compassion and tolerance
These results begin to show up in as little as a few months of training and increase with time and continued proper guidance.
